Wednesday, June 06, 2007 Psalm 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, 3 he restores my soul. 4 Even though I walk 5 You prepare a table before me 6 Surely goodness and love will follow me why do we waste so much of our efforts pursuing the things that we value? even though we work and strive for such things, we all know that everything of this world will perish. but the Lord has commanded us to "deny ourselves and take up our cross". there are many things that the human heart naturally desires. i myself have some things that i do not want to let go of. some things that i love and value a lot. but we always have to learn to let go and surrender everything to God. and to trust in His power and in His perfect will that in the end, everything that has happened is for our own good. i know that God wants to teach me something in what is happening in my life. o how i wish that i could wholeheartedly pray each and every word of this psalm. He says in His word that "i (we) shall not be in want." i pray that the Lord would help me overcome my selfish wants and teach me to "not be in want". i must learn to trust in the Lord, and he will be the one to take care of me. as i follow His will, i know that "my cup will overflow".
