spam;

i am irritated and insulted by spam emails / messages circulating around the internet. those things like "if you don't send this to blah blah blah, you get blah blah blah..." these are perfect examples of how you can waste your time over the internet when you have nothing better to do.

i started this blog post because of this specific spam message...

"A kid asked Jesus... how much do you love me? Jesus replied," I love you this much." and he stretched his arms to the cross and died for us. If you believe in God, you will send this to everyone on your list. If you delete this, I do not believe you will have a cold heart in 2007 (as they say). I like you because of who you are to me. I treat you as a true friend. But if I don't get this back, I get the hint. Send this to all people in your list within 30 minutes and something good will happen."

i was not just irritated, i was also insulted. i was insulted because these specific messages mislead people instead of drawing them closer to the Lord. you do not express love for Jesus by sending a child's bedtime story to 400+ people over the internet (some you barely know) for the next 30 minutes, thinking that because of this act, you have already proven that you love God and he will credit you somehow by promising that "something good will happen".

this is just plainly absurd. love for God is not expressed through petty acts like these. love for God is expressed through obedience. how do we obey? turn to the Word of God, for this is how we would know what He wants us to do.

Matthew 7:21-23
21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

praise God!;

praise the Lord! our software project garnered 3rd place out of 14 in our recently concluded exhbit. we also had the 2nd best UI and the 2nd best dataflow and design...

i really want to thank Him for how He has moved in this project. i was assigned project manager in this project and i really did not know what to do and how to manage a team of 12. but by God's grace, i somehow pulled it off. He really is my only source of strength, and without Him I am nothing.

and for this i want to thank Him and give Him back all the glory that is rightfully His. once again i have witnessed God's faithfulness in my life...
