Saturday, June 24, 2006 my first week as a junior has just passed. and i can tell that this will be a very busy semester for me. 4 out of 6 of the subjects that i am taking right now has a project. project = weeks without sleep. 4 projects = i'm dead meat.
good thing not all of them are individual. hmmm, on second thought, is it really good? sometimes i prefer to work on something alone, because group projects is really a hassle. i prefer to do things on my own because at least, i am the only one to blame when things go amiss. it's hard to gather all your groupmates, and it's also hard to divide the work, specially in comsci subjects. but, it's part of learning it think. learning how to work with other people, because now that i think of it, not everything can be done alone. as much as i want to be superman, i'm not superman. maybe i'll try to be more welcome with group stuff. i've already started this summer actually, in my SPCM1 class, and it turned out fine. i just hope it would be fine for comsci subjects too. i'm already sleepy, but i don't want to sleep yet. what to do, what to do... maybe i'll have a game of pangya. or maybe i'll continue reading the return of the king. or maybe i'll read my PSY1 module. whatever. macky

Comments (0) Monday, June 19, 2006 if ever you've played warcraft, you would probably know what a peon is (and what he says)... and i feel like an orc peon right now, we're so busy working and preparing the house that we're gonna move to. so busy in fact that i can't do anything else aside from working there. i'm even lucky to steal some minutes to update my blog. tomorrow is the first day of classes but up until today, we're working like busy peons.
we painted 2 rooms, the dirty kitchen, the cabinets, and other stuff. paint paint paint. and today, we're going to paint some cabinets (again!), and maybe later this afternoon, start moving things to the new house. it's probably not habitable yet, because my cabinet in the room was just painted yesterday, and the smell of enamel paint just gives you a headache. i was hoping to have this day off from work, but no, i still need to work! *sigh* i just pray god will give me sufficient strength for today's work and to wake up early tomorrow for my 7am first class. i can't even train tonight. bummer. o well. macky

another semester of torment. another semester of comsci. oh well. but i'm still not feeling the excitement of classes. maybe because i had summer classes, my summer vacation was cut short. i still want to maximize my summer, so i think i'm going to play world of warcraft right now.. macky

Comments (0) Friday, June 02, 2006 well, i've just started playing world of warcraft earlier, and i can say that the game is pretty much amazing. i'm just at level 7 there, and i haven't really explored all the quests, but so far all the quests i have had is hunt, gather, deliver kind of quests. i wonder what the quests are for high level characters...
aside from the fact that there are only a few players, some bugs (though i haven't experienced bugs yet), and the occasional server crash, the server is quite a rough approximation of the real thing. what do you expect from a private server anyway? this makes me want to play on the official server all the more. the problem is, the rate is too expensive, and i don't have a credit card. i have no money to pay for a game that expensive. but i think it's really gonna be worth it. there are a lot of issues regarding world of warcraft servers. blizzard is always on the move hunting down private servers and giving out lawsuits and forcing the servers to shut down. what is blizzard's problem anyway? the people who play in private servers play there because they haven't got the money to play in the official servers. so technically, these servers aren't denying blizzard the cash that blizzard feels they "deserve". sheesh. why not sell the rights for WoW to local companies all around the world, so that people will have an affordable and less laggy version of the game. blizzard will still earn that way right? i don't know with blizzard why they are keeping the game to themselves. i mean, every other good game out there has a local version right? like Ragnarok, Khan, MU, RF Online, etc... these are good games themselves, and those who developed the game didn't keep it but distributed them to local companies, and it turned out right, right? anyway. i'll get back to playing WoW, seems that the server is up again. macky
