narsil;

if i'm not mistaken, Narsil was the name of Elendil's sword before Aragorn renamed it to Anduril. i think i'm starting to forget my Lord of the Rings stuff ^_^

anyway, the title of this post is narsil because this is what i named my sorceress in diablo2 right now. i just thought narsil sounded appropriate ^_^

who plays diablo 2? it's a cool and quite immortal game. i tried playing diablo 2 some months ago, but i stopped because i was bored. it's quite boring to play when you're alone. but good thing there's the internet and a software called hamachi. think of hamachi as LAN over the internet.

anyway, because of these two things, i am able to play diablo 2 with my high school friend bren, he plays diablo too. well, our room during highschool was a warcraft / diablo room. people come in from other rooms to play, or watch us play in our laptops. and bren was one of them ^_^

the fact of being able to play diablo with my old schoolmates again is quite neat, and that brought back my enthusiasm to play diablo. with the proper motivation (playing with friends), i can play diablo all day without getting bored.

i'm now at act 3! which is the most crappy act out of the 5 acts because it's soooo long... well, i need to wrap up my post cause i have more monsters to kill ahead of me. bye!

give our money back!;

pldt should give us our money back. we pay them 2k a month for such a crappy connection. we called customer service hotline and they explained to my mom that the extension lines was causing ground to the line of the DSL, thus the disconnection.

but i did all the possible solutions to isolate the problem and it turns out that the extension lines have nothing to do with the disconnections at all. crap. pldt always give those kind of explanations that sound like "the problem is in your side, not ours", but in reality, their service is really poor. i know a number of people on pldt dsl and they all complain because they have crappy connections.

i can't take it anymore. DC here, DC there, DC everywhere! they should rename their company to PLDC (Philippine Laging Disconnect Company). i hope i get connected long enough to publish this post.

summer's over;

summer classes are over at last! i did quite well in my persuasive speech all thanks to God! i got a 92, the highest so far that i know of is 96. i pray that i get a decent grade in spcm1.

vacation again, at last! i can do whatever i want for almost 3 weeks before formal classes start again, yahoo!

i expect that the incoming semester would be quite a challenge because we will be taking 4 comsci subjects all in one sem. but with God's grace, kaya to! yeah!

i'm already an incoming 3rd year. 2 more years then i'll be a BS graduate, woohoo! i hope i do get a well-paying job, then i'll save my money for a lot of stuff!

my first investment would be a kick-ass computer. so that i could play all the new PC games without the annoying restrictions of low-end vid cards. my next project maybe would be a gaming console. i will get back half of the gaming life that i've missed because I DONT HAVE A PS2... T_T

it's very sad for a gamer like me to not have a ps2. so i stick to PC games, online games, etc. and i can't play all those cool, graphics heavy games because i only have a mediocre video card.

but that will all change once i get a job! muahahahaha!!!

pldt sucks;

our internet is so sucky. it disconnects every now and then. i even considered it a miracle that it lasted until 1am last night, starting at about 11pm.

pldt should improve. or maybe someone better should emerge in the industry. teach pldt a lesson. competition is always healthy for the consumers ^_^

i'm still sleepy. i want to go back to sleep. sleep is good. zzZZZZzzzz...

pangya!;

aside from dota, i've been playing pangya recently. it's an online golf game. the good thing about pangya is that it is free to play. and very entertaining. the game is very simple, and just about anyone can play the game. if you are interested, you can visit http://www.pangya.ph to check out the game.

being the impatient person that i am (i know impatience is bad, and with His help, i should do something about it), i do not usually play at tournaments. because one tournament in pangya usually has 18 holes, and lasts about 30-40 minutes each tournament. i just discovered that tournaments is a good way to earn money in pangya so i started playing in tournaments recently.

it's a fun game, and if you love online games, or golf, you should try it.

low on memory;

i'm not sure, but i think my birthday this year is one of my birthdays where in a lot of people greeted me. ang dami! hehe.

maybe a lot of old friends remembered me, or maybe i have already made a lot of new friends ^_^ it feels quite good, but it makes me feel more guilty. why?

because of all the people who greeted me, i think that less than 5% of them are people whom i know their birthdays. the other 95%, it's either i still haven't asked them or i forgot when. T_T as some of you may know, i have a poor memory. especially when it comes to the names of new acquaintances, and the birthdays of my friends.

that's why i hate subjects that require memorization so much (and i love subjects that require application, e.g. math). of all my history classes, i only enjoyed 2 of them, one in high school and one in college. and both of them are about the history of asia. i particularly dislike the history of our country, maybe because it has been discussed all over again for like 7 or 8 years of my school life...

anyway. i tend to forget a lot of things. i don't know if my memory is really that bad, or if it is because a lot of information is being stuffed in my brain in school (information overload).

i wish we humans also have memory slots in our brains. then i could buy memory of larger capacity and insert it in my brain. so that i can remember things i usually can't. but i believe memory of humans can be expanded, it just requires a lot of time. and i do not even bother to do so because i am somewhat an impatient person.

maybe this can also be the influence of today's society. modern days always wants things done as fast as possible. we already have noodles which take 3 minutes to cook. you don't even cook it, you just add hot water, and wait. even that 3-minute wait seems too long for some people. they just want things to happen in a flash.

even relationships take the fast lane. in the western cultures, 2 people get to know each other, then later that day, they sleep on one bed (you know what i mean). and even the filipino culture is being influenced by the western world. it seems that the filipinos are also taking the "liberal route", people want freedom, maybe too much freedom than they can handle.

maybe this attitude of rushing things can also be the cause of the shortening of the lifespan of people (?). i mean, look at the bible. during the time of adam, they get to live for about 900 years. imagine if we all live for as long as 900 years. even in the late old testament, people still get to live for over a hundred years. abraham (correct me if i'm mistaken) even had his first child at the age of 100+ (?).

anyway... i think i've gotten far and have already thought of a lot of things... it's about time for me to sleep. good night everyone ^_^

runaway dog, take 2;

i did the usual household chores that i do when i get home. i washed some dishes that were left in the sink, i went out to attend to my rabbits (meggy and motmot), cleaned their cage, fed them and refilled their water. then i attended to my dog, we went out for a walk after she ate dinner, she did her stuff (poo-poo and wee-wee), then i went inside the house to clean up myself.

then as i was about to drink some iced tea, my neighbor calls me and tells me that venice (my dog) was out of her cage. in less than 3 minutes, i called her back and led her into the cage.

this thing already happened once, and it happened again. she escaped her cage, and i don't know how she did this. the first time it happened, we were quite afraid that a stray dog could've mated with her. but thanks to god, she did not become pregnant. at that time, i was not sure if i had closed the bolt of her cage.

but this time, i was pretty sure that i shut the cage. but she still escaped. has my dog turned into houdini? hehe.

i have read somewhere that the golden retriever is the 4th most intelligent dog breed, the 1st being the border collie. i don't know if a golden's intelligence was supposed to go THAT far. but i still haven't seen my dog attempting to open her cage. i doubt that her paws could've done that

so how did it happen? my theory is that... venice gets quite excited when there is a cat outside her cage. i think she REALLY wants to play with the cat (golden retrievers is a very friendly and playful breed), and jumps around her cage and leans on the cage. maybe the shaking of the cage caused the handle of the door to rotate (???) and she pushed the cage to get out. but that really doesn't make much sense.

i still don't know how, but the fact is, she got out. from now on, i'll always make sure to "lock" the cage with the fastening end (i don't know what it is called) of her leash. i doubt that dog paws could open that.

another UPLB day;

ok im writing my post here in notepad and i plan to post it tomorrow morning or later this evening in blogger.com. seems like the server is having some problems. oh well.

another day in UPLB, i woke up late, i fixed my blog, then i played one DotA game. (sorry to those who don't play dota if you can't relate ^^,) I played as Omniknight, and it was my first time to go beyond godlike using him without any deaths. I just discovered that he's such a good chaser when he has sange&yasha. hehe. enough of the dota stuff.

then i went to my speech comm class (quite late but the class was just starting anyway), and listened to the remaining impromptu speeches of my classmates. then my teacher announced the top 3 impromtu speeches, and guess what, i was second! praise god! i really prayed to Him at that speech to guide me, because as i have already said, the stage fright in impromptu speeches is different. thank god my speech turned out fine.

then i rested, and proceeded to my arnis training in the afternoon. i ran out of breath at our 3rd round in jogging, and actually, in the whole "warm-ups". why do i call it "warm-up" with the ""'s? because in the warm-ups, we are being tired out before practicing any arnis techniques. why? because our coach says (and it's true because i also feel it) that our body moves best with our arms when the body is tired. at that point, we learn our proper forms.

then i went home, and rested. the day was tiring but i hate, and love (quite ironic) the tired feeling that i get every after training. i continue to train because i hope to make up for the one semester of training that i skipped. and of course i want to be better (and best!) at the sport (or martial art) of arnis.

its already 10 pm, and its about time for a DotA game. see you later!

impromptu;

brand yan ng ballpen, impromptu. hehe. de joke lang.

earlier this day, our class in speech comm 1 had an impromptu speech, all of us went in front to talk about a topic that we have prepared for about 3 minutes beforehand. and i realized that impromptu speeches are much more different than prepared speeches.

first, the factor of stage fright affects the speech more than it does in a prepared speech. the prospect of talking about something right there and then makes your heart beat faster. second, in a prepared speech, you know what you are talking about. you have more or less organized your main points and ideas into a continuous flow of thought. in impromptu, main ideas can tend to be "kalat-kalat" so to speak, because of the limited preparation time.

but surely these speeches help in boosting the self confidence of a person. practice makes perfect, as the saying goes.

another day in spcm1, another day of speaking. 2 more weeks to go and i'll earn myself a GE course worth 3 units, and hopefully, better speaking skills.

and by the way, gracey and i celebrated our 21st month together at jollibee. sarap!

killing spree;

wala lang. naisipan ko lang magpost. hehe.

i'm no writer, so i just post whatever i feel like posting here. hehe. pasensya na kung sabog ang mga posts ko ^_^

ayun, may naaamoy akong satay beef noodles, bababa muna ako at chichibog... bbye!
